Introducing our fleet!

Here at SpartanRacing we love old race boats (we like new ones too!). Finding these old boats and realizing new potential in them is our passion,
in the same way that we want to realize potential in people. We are always working on boats so you can expect more soon ……

Savage is a one of a kind Steiner 29 built in Tasmania, Australia in 1990.  It’s of foam sandwich construction, has a lifting bulb keel, decent sized aluminum rig, wings and a very big bowsprit.  She was raced in the land down under until brought to the Philippines in 2015.  She was purchased by the Spartans in 2018 and under went a transformation which saw a new and slightly longer bow added, a fixed prod installed and a complete revamp of her control lines and wardrobe.  Originally designed as a down-wind weapon; she is now a down-wind and reaching beast with 25.0 knots so far being recorded as her top speed.

Farrgo Express

A legendary Farr 1104 from the board of Bruce Farr himself in 1975.  The great man still rates this break-through design as one of his best.  Farrgo Express is a New Zealand built boat with the slightly larger rig and keel compared to those built in Australia.  She was brought to Thailand in 2013.  The Spartan’s chartered her from Sailescapes Phuket for her first Phuket Kings Cup Regatta in 2013 coming away with a 2nd place and went on to campaign her in the 2014 Phuket Kings Cup (3rd), the Raja Muda Regatta 2015 (1st) and the Phuket Race Week 2016 (2nd).  During that time her rig was replaced, she was stripped back and faired, deck gear was replaced, electronics were upgraded and a suite of North Sails fitted.  She is probably the best equipped (for racing) and certainly one of the fastest Farr 1104s around.

Java and her three sister yachts are the hottest regatta yachts in the Multihull racing class in Asia. Java, or one of her sisters, have won every regatta they have entered.
The boat is built from lightweight composites with a large rotating carbon rig and sail area. Sporting twin helm stations and amazingly functional sailing systems, she is quick off the blocks and responsive to the slightest pressure. She combines this with a large open plan living area with great ventilation and airy cabins to make the most of tropical racing.

From the design boards of Felci Yachts and built by Ice Yachts, Belatrix is arguably the pinnacle in terms of the synthesis between purpose-built race boat and an elegant and modern fast cruiser. It is fast, easily handled and beautiful – another Italian masterpiece.

Belatrix is based in the Philippines and will principally be raced there, although some of the large regional regattas and offshore races are on her dance card.
